CROATIA BALKAN CHAMOIS Hunting Area: Biokovo and Sibenik Vrgovac The hunting venues are government areas approximately 60 miles from Split and near the Adriatic Sea at elevations from 2,000 to 6,000 feet. The higher parts are especially good for Chamois with average trophy sizes of 100 - 115 CIC points. The rut takes place mid-November to December at which time the bucks are active all day. Outside of the rut, they are active early and late. Lodging is in small hotels in Makarska which is a beautiful tourist town by the Adriatic Sea. 
MOUFLON Hunting Area: Oribic The hunting venue is a government area of approximately 30,000 acres located approximately 150 miles from Split or 60 miles from Dubrovnik and varying in elevation from 1,000 to 3,000 feet. You will hunt on the coast in the Karst mountains which has trees in the lower elevations and is rocky higher up so good boots are a must. Hunting methods consist of stalking and sitting. Shooting distances are often 200 yards. This is a fair chase hunt with good trophy quality. The rut occurs mid-October to mid-November.
